5 Minute runs

So I have been told to limit my runs to 5 minutes maximum, when i start up again. But i often find that this is the worst part of a longer run, as it takes a few minutes to get warmed up and often the most discomfort is in the first few hundred metres.

Still out of running

Well its been 10 days since I took part in a 5k run, (against the advice of the phsyio I might add). It was part of a triathlon and I kind of got caught up in the moment, and ran anyway, even though I knew I shouldn’t. My shins felt fine before the run, but as soon as i started running i felt that familiar jarring sensation.  So I still have lingering discomfort from this, I will try a 5 minute run this week on grass and see how it goes. I'll be using my prescribed orthotics and Mizunu waves - as advised by the podiatrist.

I've ran in them before but found them super hard on my feet, it feels like there is no cushioning but apparently this is what I need for my particular biomechanics problems - a mid stabling shoe with a custom orthotics.
